How do macros work?
Macros are predefined or customisable features that allow keywords to be filtered according to an inclusion or exclusion model via regexes.

The existing macro templates allow:
Clean up a list of keywords (accents, no accents, plurals, masculine/feminine ...) to avoid distorting search volume statistics.
βCategorise automatically
How to create a macro and apply it to the list of keywords?
When you click on Add/Manage and then Macros, you will have the option to choose between the predefined macros or to create a new macro.
In this example, the objective is to delete all expressions containing years (, 2016, 2017 ...).
Let's create a new macro together: click on "Macro" then on "New Macro".
Having given your macro a name and description, you now need to tell it what type of action it will perform. You can either categorise or delete targeted phrases. Here, let's choose "Delete keywords". Then, to target the years to be deleted, we will enter them in the "targeted expressions" field with a comma to separate them.
You can also select a targeted category, to ensure you aren't deleting useful keywords
The eye icon next to the targeted expressions is used to preview the keywords concerned by this macro.
β
If you are satisfied with the conditions of your macro, all that remains is to Apply and Save for the macro to run and clean your corpus.
