Myposeo just released a new feature to help you create clusters right in your keyword master tool. Let’s dive in :

1. What is a cluster within the Keywords Master Module?

First thing to know before using the clustering feature is what you should expect from this new addition. Clusters are a group of content that revolves around a central topic, using a pillar page to link to and from. Clusters are groups of pages centred around a single topic and offering multiple internal linking opportunities to keep readers on your site.

To sum it up, it is a category built around a central page using internal links to thrive.

In the Myposeo tool, clustering is organising your keyword, not based on a pattern, but organising through Search Intent. It is different from the “suggested categories” feature.

Suggested category process

E.g:

* buy car

* buy electric vehicule

* buy mercedes

NOTE : Suggested category will create a category “Buy” based on the common word “buy” in those requests

Clustering process

E.g:

* buy car

* acquire Audi

* pay for mercedes

NOTE: Suggested categories will not be able to group these keywords together because there are no patterns. Clustering will group them because the comparison is based on semantics. The intent is the same so the feature will create a cluster.

2. How to use the clustering feature

Go to your Keyword Master tool and specially in the keyword selection you want to work on.

Once you are in your campaign, you simply have to click on the “cluster” logo, in the “categories” section :

You should have a pop up entitled “Clustering of Keywords” appearing. In this pop up, you will be able to select the keywords you want to work with, and the language of your keywords.

In order to create correct clusters, you can’t use keywords from different languages.

In the bottom right, you will also see the number of credits that the cluster feature will consume.

When you are done with your parameters, click on the “Start clustering” button at the bottom right of the pop up. The tool will start the “grouping of keywords” in order to create clusters:

When the grouping is over, simply click on “Go create categories with your clusters” (if the loading is frozen for more than 10 minutes, try to refresh the page).

3. Create categories with the clustering

Once you clicked on “Go create categories with your clusters’, you should land on this page :

You will find a lot of information here, such as the number of clusters identified, the number of keywords used and the total Search Volume.

If you scroll down, you will see the different clusters identified, the number of keywords each cluster contains, and the search volume associated with the cluster.

You can also see the intention of each keywords

There are 2 options that you can use by clicking on the “options” button.

“Number of clusters” allows you to select the number of clusters you want for the selected keywords.

Similarity level allows you to modify the semantic proximity you want in your clusters.

To create a category of keywords based on a cluster, you can select the cluster and click on the “Convert into a category” button at the bottom of your screen, or directly click on “Convert cluster into a category” next to the cluster name.

When you do either of these options, the selected cluster(s) will appear in the right column. Here you can edit the future category name, or delete it if you changed your mind or selected it by mistake.

When you are sure of the categories you want to create, click on the “Create categories” button at the toght of your screen:

A pop up will appear for verification, if you are sure of your choices click on the “Save and exit clustering” button.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE THE CLUSTER FEATURE IS CLOSE, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO FIND THE SAME CLUSTERS AGAIN.

Datavisualisation

When you are using the clustering feature, you can access the datavisualisation panel in the top left of the section :

In this section, you will be able to see one chart (available in "treemap" or in "density area" visualisation).

This charts is sorting your clusters based either on "Number of keyword" or total "Search Volume". To choose between the 2, you need to click on the dropdown button at the top right of the chart :

You can also click on the "Options" button to change the number of clusters, and the similarity level of keywords that you want :

This way, you can visualise the potential of each clusters before creating the categories in your keyword master.
